When I was there back in 2000, I believe MICEATM came from Comair Academy...it was taught to me by a Comair graduate and wasn't anywhere in the SOP's for Riddle. But anyway, MICEATM was part of a larger "ASAP" that stood for:
A - ATIS
S - Stack (radio setup, tune freq's and set VOR courses)
A - Approach Brief (MICEATM)
P - Pre-landing Check (basically the approach checklist or whatever ERAU has now)
Now, for "my" tweaked version of MICEATM
M - Mag Compass & Marker Beacons Armed/Tested (if I remember correctly part of the approach flow was checking the mag compass and DG)
I - Identify Chart # and Navaids
C - Courses (Inbound/Outbound, PT)
E - Entry (ie Hold in lieu, PT, straight in, etc.)
A - Altitudes
T - Time to MAP
M - Missed Approach Point/Procedure
In addition, I would use M-I-C-E for holding entries - Mag Compass/DG, Identify Navaid, Courses Inbound/Outbound, and Entry (Teardrop, Parallel, or Direct). It worked out well for me as a mental checklist.
