ERAU $46,000/yr?!?!

What the heck is UND charging these days? Last I heard, they were making students pay $4000 a year to rent a computer (required) and muti costs were over $300 an hr.....

You had one too many zeros there buddy with the laptop price.

UND is actually rather in-expensive compared to some of the other college level flight schools. After a year there you can qualify for in-state tuition which adds up to big savings. In-State tuition runs aprox. $6100 a year. Flight costs are roughly the same as any other location (in my experience).

I crunched the numbers on UND a couple of times and it seems ery affordable even for out of state
Wow 46 seems liberal for Riddle my friend told me he calculated it to be 63. Either way its insultingly rediculous:mad:

The online program offers a Master of Science in Management and also a Master of Aeronautical Science.

The degree I'd really like to get is the MBA but it isn't offered online.

They both kinda sound like 'useless' aviation degrees just like the Bachelor's degree from most University flight programs. I'm not bashing aviation degrees because I'm getting one but, I honestly don't see any point in getting a Master of Aeronautical Science.

Speaking from ERAU, one of my buddies from UPT recently completed his master's degree from ERAU-worldwide (online). Anyone know how much this (roughly) costs? I'm sure GI benefits will pay for some of it, and I have enough free time sitting in hotels I could probably stand to knock out a master's degree in the process. Anyone have experience with ERAU--online program?

The classes for Master's are around 1000 bucks a class, you need around 10 or 12 depending on the subject area. I did some online for my degree, it cost around 640 a class now. Luckily, I could use the military TA which pays all of it. I don't know where the other folks are pulling the numbers from though, the 4 year degree at erau can be finished for about 25k which is in line with most colleges.

I graduated from Riddle at the Prescott campus December 2003. At the time it was tough getting an instructor job. During 2004 I decided it would be a great time to pursue an MBA. I studied the GMAT and look for reputable schools. It would have been tough for me to do a full time program and have money left over for living after I received student loans. It was best for me to purse a part time MBA and found a few schools that offer a great online MBA program. I chose Syracuse University. Their online program is the same as their full time program, taught by the same professors. http://whitman.syr.edu/MBA/iMBA/

The nice thing is how flexible the program is. Students can switch between the online program and the fulltime program if they choose. Students entering the full time program must take the GMAT while those accepted into the online program are exempt from taking the GMAT. This is sort of a loophole if you don’t want to take the GMAT. Tuition is expensive though. I fly out to the campus every semester for a week long residency, take my finals, meet my new teachers and class mates. I feel more connected to the program and students with these residencies. Students taking the online program receive all the benefits as the fulltime students, such as using the career center or attending career fairs. The program is marketed towards executives who can’t or don’t want to leave work for two years to pursue an advanced degree. I’m far from being an executive and I got in. I graduate next month. I would avoid getting an MBA from Riddle because it’s not AACSB certified. When choosing an MBA program, make sure it is AACSB certified since it holds weight over programs that don’t. Schools like the University of Phoenix are not AACSB certified and are considered degree mills. Now I have to get a job in the real world.

Yep. 40K sounds abut right.

I visited ERAU last weekend. My sister finished from B-CC University. I stopped by Registration/Visitation/Tours office in the front of the UC. I inquired about the cost and the young lady behind the desk told me that for a NON-FLYING DEGREE, it costs about 160-180K for a 4-year degree.

Glad I went when I did. A non-flying 4-year degree back in '87 cost me less than 25K.

I know what you mean. I am looking for professional colleges and so obviously I hear about ERAU early on. When I called and asked about the crazy tuition the lady got mad at me and said

"People who come here have a passion for flying! If you have no passion than I would not suggest coming here!"

Thank you ma'am, ggggGGGGGGOOOO...Fighting Sioux!
