Epilepsy

So I know until I get the seizures completely stopped there's no chance. In fact knowing how epilepsy works, which is not just falling on the floor and convulsing, I do not want to fly with this as much as I love flying. The partial seizures are enough to make flying dangerous for me and others. Still because my case one of those where medication does not control them like it does for most people--though it has helped--we are looking into surgery now with the neuroscience department at the University of Kentucky. Assuming the surgery stops the seizures how long would it be that I would have to be without any seizures, even partials? How does the FFA do with those who have a history of seizures that have been proven to be epileptic in nature?
