Hey CC, I don't know about the cubicle life because I work as an outside tech for a telecommunications, but the writing is on the wall for some of our jobs to be eliminated. Seniority is everything at this company, and I don't think I have enough of it.
Life is way too short to be miserable, I'd rather make half as much as I do and be a pilot, than do what I'm doing now.
Maybe I'll see you out in PHX, the scenery is definitely better out there than this "state of disaster".
By the way, did anybody see that tanker truck wreck in Bridgeport on I95? The local CBS station cut in on the NCAA tourney to show live pictures of flames shooting up to 50 feet from the wreck-I95 is still shut down. It melted the bridge that the accident occurred on-they said the burning oil reached temps up to 2000 degrees!! It was wild to watch it live.
Hey BP!
I know what you mean about being outsourced. I think they found my replacement(multi-system DBA) in India for about $3.10/hr. Oh well I'm not doing this for the $$$ but for doing something I enjoy and if I make a little $$$ in the process than that's the "icing on the cake".
PHX is far different than CT (I know because I used to live near Worcester MA), but from living out west in N. CA, its nice to see "brown" from time to time. Lots of young people from all parts and plenty of outdoor activities to do not far from PHX. Anyone up for a little hiking or 4x4 anyone?
Aug should be HOT in PHX and I hope to get my fly time early in the morning or night to aviod thermal heat issues. Sept and Oct should be much better, but in the ACPP program you fly to other places too.
We had a tanker a couple years ago did the same thing in Tampa. Less than few thousand feet from one of the TPA runways. Melted a brand new overpass. It was closed for weeks.
