Envoy may hire soon

Rumor has it that Envoy will be interviewing soon for 4 dispatchers. Early June 2016 class.

I wonder how long you'd be stuck on the bottom of the seniority list. Then again, if you're just starting out you could do a lot worse than Eagle. I worked for eagle for 2 years and enjoyed it immensely.

Im curious what has changed to cause hiring? Attrition has been fairly low at Envoy, no fleet growth and all I have been hearing from there is that they are still overstaffed by around a dozen or more. There are people inside Envoy who want furloughs to happen because the overtime has dried up. Im genuinely surprised by the rumour given that upper dispatch management at Envoy has been trying to prevent furloughs from happening.
 
Was a surprise to us too. We obviously are not privvy to the big picture.

Yet we are bringing aircraft out of the desert and stepping up the E175 deliveries. Envoy has definitely turned the corner.
And OT/DT will be returning soon as well :)
 
There is the possibility that if our JCBA passes, we may need to hire a lot of new people. The need for the first few classes would likely be for people who know DECS very well and can get signed off quickly. Envoy dispatchers get signed off quicker than anyone else. I would not be surprised if Envoy hiring could be related to this.

I am going to take a stab and say that the Republic Bankruptcy has something to do with this. Rumor has it that RAH is looking to park planes from the AA agreement, especially now that DL has a financial stake in RAH as a result of the Bankruptcy. Thus they need someone else to pick up the 170 lift, and now that Envoy is flying the E 170, they are the logical choice in this matter.

One rumor I heard is some of the LUS dispatchers who didn't come down from PIT may come back. I would expect training to be a much quicker process if the CBA passes since there will be a two year requirement before you can hold an International Qualification.

Either way, it is amazing how quickly things change in this business. One day they are talking furloughs, the next day they are talking about hiring new people.
