aa dispatchers and VIPs get their kids hired on at Envoy. After a few months they get hired at aa. Being friends with GK is the golden ticket in apparently. It's a racket...

Is envoy a must to move to AA these days?

It definitely gives you an advantage, but it is not a requirement. Ignore the bitter people who didn't make the cut, so they want to make excuses.

Is envoy a must to move to AA these days?

I would worry less about that and think more about the unique opportunity. Envoy is the only regional you can go to with the prospect of eventually moving on to either AA or SWA without having to make another cross country move. That is the only regional that even offers that opportunity, whether or not there is a hiring preference.

Horizon is the only other one even close, but locked into AS only....not two majors in the same city. Every other regional, you will have to make another cross country move to go to a major.

Flight Keys is a HUGE factor as well. AA seems to be weighing Flight Keys experience heavily, and Envoy is the only regional where you can get it.
