Envoy DFW-TYR

What's the axe you're grinding here? We aren't provided a copy of the full ops specs. They give us a manual that contains references to ops specs and CFRs.

Are you suggesting, that because I haven't memorized the ops specs reference, I'm incapable of obeying a regulation that I've recited to you? Seriously?
Dude. Zach flew in Alaska, he's a better pilot than anyone here.

Eagle really does not provide a copy of their opspecs to their pilots. (The one with the tiny print and FAA logo and digitally signed documents). Instead they get excerpts of the opspecs and everything in their FM-1 is prechewed and digested for them so that they don't have to reference the actual opspecs themselves.

About landing with the airport advisory, I believe the opspecs has always required one, but eagles interpretation as to what a valid airport advisory was changed. It used to not be a big deal to land at an airport without an operating tower, but a few years ago, (coinciding with a FAA poi change) then hi6's came out hot and heavy stressing that the airport advisory required a report from the ops agent on the ground checking asos/awos and making a ctaf call didn't cut it. And pilots got sent to the hot seat for not getting the report after decades of not getting in contact with the ops agent.

I'm pretty sure Eagles opspecs for operations without a control tower is the same as everyone else's opspecs for operations without a control tower, it's just Eagles interpretation requires ground contact with ops.

At my first airline, virtually 95% of our flying was at nontowered fields - the only time we talked to a control tower was flying into the class b airport hub. We just got the asos/awos made a ctaf position call, landed and that was it.

Eagle was the same way until the POI change.

A 3 piece suit to be exact... Red tie and all...
Wasn't three piece, yellow tie with red markings and a dark navy suit. It still sits in my closet, and as a matter of fact, I am pretty sure I wore that to my last job interview. It's going to be a sad day when that suit hits the retirement rack. Lots of good memories in that suit.

Fair enough... Some days I have a hard time remembering what I had for lunch... Glad to hear you were able to move onward and upward!

My suits that I have really good memories in, typically aren't fit for reuse.

At PSA this is essentially what we do. I never flew to an untowered/closed tower at Expressjet, but I do not remember an advisory being required there either.
