Envoy Air hiring.

Is anyone able to clarify these disquieting rumors going around about Envoy becoming strictly a ground handling company and giving up its flying?

E6, keep trying. I do not think the age is a factor, I have seen older hired at Envoy. Do you have a background in aviation? Is anything you did in the Navy relevant to aviation?

Thanks ken, I'm in the possible candidates from the November interviews and I just didn't want to move down there only to be surprised with a shut down lol

E6, I doubt seriously that age was an issue. Without having directly interviewed you it's near impossible to diagnose what needs fixing if anything. In any event interviewing isn't like baking a cake. Even if you have everything the employer is looking for they can go for someone else. You'll find your match, just keep hammering! Lots of opportunities lately.

This forum has taught me the interviews for the first job are the hardest.

As I drink my shiner and review more regs, wondering when PDT will call back...

E6, one thing to remember is just how competitive dispatch jobs can be. With the success people have had in coming to Envoy and getting quickly to AA within a year or so, this means applications are going to be very high. You can easily have a hundred or more applications for 5-6 jobs at a regional. Even higher at a major. The odds of getting any dispatch job are generally not in your favor.

You could have very well had an excellent interview. But with a large pool, they have to pick a small number out of a large pool of qualified candidates.

Brush off the disappointment and keep trying. Persistence pays off in this industry.

This is so true. I had applied to an airline up my way a few months back, interviewed but turned down. So about two weeks ago they opened back up again, I applied again, and was interviewed again, and got the offer. One of the interviewers even commented and how he liked my persistence in going for the job. So, persistence really does pay off.

I'd be more persistent except Envoy keeps you out for 6 months after an interview, right? But then their fleet....

I was a Flight Engineer on the Boeing E-6B(a 707 variant), plus I'm a private pilot. I have twenty years plus of experience as a maintainer and as FE, so I have plenty of experience. The whole situation was very strange for me. Oh well. It'll work out in the end.

Zero, but neither did the other candidates.

Oh, well then you are fine! You're just one of the low time guys standing in line...So if they pass on you then they will be back again.
Just to be clear, I am looking also and I have little to no exp. and I am "older"....But there is no rhyme or reason to who they hire...Just like everyone says...be confident, be yourself, and be nice. ;)
