Enlightening Video

HAHAHAHAH flying team, aren't they a bunch of ........ :rotfl:

Good evenin' to ya sir. I guess you just never know who you'll find hanging around here. I'm glad you find some excitement in knocking on what my friends and I chose to do in our free time on an anonymous internet forum. That'll probably have about the same effectiveness at getting you a job as what we do.

Flight team is cool but most of your members need to chill out, the one's I've met anyway. I almost walked away from the dinner because some guy from your flight team was saying how UND is the best school ever when the rest of us were talking about girls (no joke).

Ahhh, what an outcast a Beer swilling, womanizing person like my self would be on the UND flying team! :insane:

F' it, I would rather fly upside down! :rawk:

There are some cool kids on the UND flight team but most of them probably never talked to a girl (female atc doesn't count).

Yeah I have met some that seem okay. The one that came to my PPL ground school to talk about the team seemed pretty creepy if you ask me.

Wow......sitting around talking about hot babes all day!!?? So cool. I bet he totally ruined your "game". It makes them stand out in interviews and if they can land an intership based on the flight team, they will be better off when they get their guarenteed interview at mainline someday.

join the aerobatics team :-D we did all of the above.

Looking into it. Sounds like I have to at least be through 102 before I can do anything, not sure though.

Do you think that flight experience matters for getting on the team (i.E ratings)? After being halfway through 102 here, I can fairly say I will not be interested in earning any more ratings at UND other then maybe Aerobatics certification. I am thinking strongly about ATC with a double major in business probably if I stay here.

Good thing I didn't get a hold of the Kool Aid haha

ratings dont matter (as long as you are a private pilot)

aptitude, skill, and ability matter.

take the acro course!! its great!

Except that I'm on a flight team as well.

The last thin I want to talk about is airplanes when I've been around them all day.

+10 as proven by your Avatar, look at all those hot stewardesses  :rotfl:

I plan on it in the event I stay at UND. Gotta get all the cabbage together for 102 first though :insane:

I agree.

And, the lessons learned on the team go beyond just "landing on a spot" or, "how to calculate using the E6B". Personally, I'm glad I took advantage of this opportunity here.

Sorry for jumping on a soap box here, but I wanted to expand on this thought...

On.Soap_Box

(and without naming names because it's not just one person) It seems like there are a lot of folks here that spout off to people who have experience. Honestly, it's part of the reason why I haven't even looked at this forum in a long while.

Being humble and learning from those that are more experienced is valuable. I may not agree or understand with what someone who's more experienced to me may offer up, but I sure will take the time to listen and try to learn something. Sure, ask questions! But, be respectful.

/Off.Soap_Box :)

:yeahthat:

I never talk about airplanes except when I'm actually flying one, teaching someone else about aviation, or posting on this forum (heck, I rarely talk about airplanes on this forum!) There are far more interesting topics, and "hot chicks" is not one of them.

:yup:Agreed.

All knowing Aviator from Texas, how many ratings did you get outside of UND? My guess is maybe your private pilot, other than that I am willing to bet you did everything at UND. What makes you so qualified to rip on UND training and speak of FBO's as being so great? You have never taught anyone in your life to fly, how do you know that FBO's dont do the exact same thing UND does? For a guy who has been out of college for 2 years you sure do have all the answers. Unfortunately 4000 posts on Jet Careers:clap: does not count as experience or make you an expert on training.

If "FBO's" do the same thing as UND does, why the hell am I here? I can get my PPL at home for 5000

But, but . . . you couldn't fly a BRAND SPANKIN' NEW 172 with a GLASS COCKPIT at a local FBO. And, UND has those BRIDGE PROGRAMS that will get you into a SHINY JET at 250 HOURS!!!11

:sarcasm:

If you could get a brand new glass cessna 172 the FBO might post off limits except those who can hardly speak english. Then once they got some time in them they will release them to the students who actually speak english and can think and make decisions. :sarcasm:

Actually, I could get that brand spankin' new 172 at GFK flight support. . . Where are you going with this?

I want to learn to fly at a reasonable price that is all. Doesn't matter on age, unless you are speaking of the instructor, I'd rather have an instructor that has been flying for 20 years then 3 I spose. The aircraft has no meaning to me as long as it is safe!
