Engine failure at Salmon, ID

Xcaliber

El Chupacabra
I was just flying and heard a conversation on guard with a plane with low oil pressure trying to get into salmon, ID. iirc, it was a huskey, callsign something 0H, 3 SOB. Heard later they crashed short of the airport with 2 survivors, but unconfirmed. Just wondering if there are any more details out there.

If the details are true, its the first fatal incident I've ever been privvy to while in the air. Fair winds and fluffy clouds, whoever you are.:(

Wait....what?

Lets hope it wasn't "fatal" meaning death btw, I had two emergencies in one day last week, both engine troubles. Wasn't fun but could've been worse

Likely it won't be your last :(

The Salmon area is a terrible place to have an engine failure. Our company had a plane in Salmon today. I'll have to see if the pilot knows anything.

If you are in this business long enough you will unfortunately experience this.

Never easy. I've been about 7 times and buried two friends from separate crashes. :(

RIP

The only info that I know for sure was that it was a single engine, losing oil pressure and unable to maintain altitude, last reported position was on a 3.2 mile final, and 3 souls. Everything else I'm not sure about, including the type and even whether they crashed or made the airport. Thus, I'm looking for more info. @JayAre @Pay2 Did you guys hear anything?

Either they were riding dirty or it wasn't a Husky. I have yet to come across a Husky that was retrofitted with 3 seats.

My wife and I survived for more info Google N2190H and read the NTSB report. Still dealing with PTSD, but grace from God we are alive...
