ready2fly, that was a damn nice setup and set the bar quite high. Good Job.
I took my wife to a bed and breakfast for a weekend and gave her clues during the week as to where we were going. She didn't guess the place until we drove up. I asked her to marry in our room after a nice romatic day.
My roomate in college worked odd jobs for a local corporate aircraft operator. He had become good friends with the pilots and managment and they agreed to let him and his GF ride on a mx flight to XYZ and back. He had it all setup and dnner plans made in XYZ...the only thing he couldn't plan on was his GF not wanting to go flying on a Lear 45 and have dinner in XYZ.... he had all his hard work blown out of water at the last minute.
He later hid the ring on the Christmas tree and let her discover it.

LOL...They are still happily married to this day with two kids...
He was frustrated and we, as his roomates, were all ticked off at the time. We now look back and laugh at it.

Geez. I hadn't checked this for weeks, and I come back to this! Thanks for all the tips and ideas! I'm going to pickup the ring this Wednesday from getting resized, so the nerves are about to really set in...

I could say "thanks" but it was a moment I started planning from the moment we fell in love. I'd do it again.....(depends on how you look at it considering my recent circumstances)...will do it again some day...albeit different and "tailored" to whomever I marry in the future.
I don't regret a DAY of my marriage because I gave my marriage 150% from the beginning to the end. In the end, it wasn't enough...for THAT person. But, one day, it will be.
Just make sure you do what your future spouse loves and will remember for the rest of her life...whether she remains your wife or not. I know my former spouse will.

Well, the deed is done and she said yes! I was trying to rack my brain of a great idea on how to ask her, but I eventually found out through one of her friends that she had mentioned a small, private proposal. No fancy, extravagant arrangements...just me and her. And so it was. On Christmas night. Sitting by the fire in our Christmas PJ's.
And the rest is history.
