Endeavor!

I believe he ended up accepting a class at gojetzzz instead.

I did decide to choose against 9E for my own personal reasons. 9E was a great interview and the people there are great, just not a fit for me at this time. ORD base (when I can hold it) will be a better option for us as the frequency is higher than DTW from our area, plus shorter reserve time as of right now. For someone like KS who lives across the street from DTW it is a no brainer to choose Endeavor (nice rhyme lol).

Ok, so what are the advantages and disadvantages of Endeavor, for someone who is contemplating a regional move.

Advantages : 20k a year retention bonus (highest in the regional world), great pilot group, choice of aircraft and base out of training, DGI.
Disadvantages : Longer reserve times (not a big deal if you live in base), longer upgrade times.

There's a reason they are giving that retention bonus. 9E is shrinking. No new planes coming. Go anywhere else like PSA, GoJets, Compass, and you'll upgrade there a lot quicker and ANY Captain salary at those regionals beats Endeavor FO pay + retention pay.

Enough of the "great pilot group" comments. Every airline has a great pilot group. All of them have a few sour apples and weirdos that get hired but as a collective, pilots are a great pilot group.

Your disadvantages are the key right there. Reserve times, ok, but the upgrade time is a career hurter if you are trying to move on to a legacy. Sure, some move on without TPIC but you are much better off with it than without.

Doesn't Compass have a MSP base? Why not Compass?

No bonus and less of a chance at a MSP base right out of the gate. I also like how the entire pilot group have gotten extra money instead of just us first year guys. Especially at 9E that seems much more fair. The pilot group has been outstanding and everyone's attitude has been extremely positive. Not to mention that hopefully the relationship with Delta will pay off in the future. I chose to bet on that than chase the upgrade at Compass.

That was a big factor for me......if all plays out (fat chance in the 121 world) as is, then the second year Captain pay is 13k more than second year FO pay plus retention at 9E. At the end of the day you have to be happy with the choice you make for where you are gonna spend time.
