A few years back working in IT for a Fortune 250 company we had all been offered a 2-yr retention bonus.... 15% of gross - year 1, 10% of gross year 2.....When I received the notice from HR and a director they said "....But your jobs are not going away..." I called bull-sheet and gave notice two weeks later....Guess what, those jobs were gone before the end of the retention period.....

Right. I could care less about the bonus money. It's not even going to be paid out until Sept 2015. Until then I will keep doing everything in my power to get out. Job fairs, networking, whatever it takes.

I know, I didn't drink my normal amount of coffee this morning. I no longer work for a DCI carrier but if I still did I'd gladly be laid off from said (previous) job knowing I'd probably get a more expedient chance to re-interview for it at DL on the same aircraft. That'd hopefully be the last interview I'd ever have to do.
 
Is the cut back to 144 a year on the SSP just for Captain SSPs or does that now include FOs under this new program that get the CJO?

Worrying?

I don't allow my work to worry me. Sorry. I go to work and enjoy it.

And then I come home and don't think about work again until the evening prior to a duty-in.

I recommend a similar philosophy. I know it's tough for those that require this job to consume their every movement/thought, but it's quite relaxing.

You'd have fit in well in IAD.

Really the only way to survive for those of us still in the suck.

Yeah, that's what I thought and have been living this way for quite sometime. Which of course is why I chuckle when someone tells me I should worry about something work related...it's kinda cute honestly.

Yea we get it. We get reminded every day from people on message boards how we will be Comaired. We made our bed, so let us deal with the consequences. It just baffles me how fellow aviators, fellow regional brethren just sit behind their computers and get all giddy and with anticipation of a Comair like shutdown. We here know it sucks. We deal with that stress every damn day. It's bad enough we hear it in our own cockpits, it's even worse hearing it from our peers that have zero involvement in our situation.
 
I think what you're seeing is a realistic expression of what could happen.

Second, you're seeing a lot of us encouraging folks to make the move NOW rather than AFTER.

Yup. A lot of people lack tact.

The worst are the ones that have already escaped coming back to these threads and viewing it all as a big reality TV show.
