Classic Air Medical North Salt Lake, Utah:<BR /><div></div><div>Air Medical Communication Dispatch</div><div><br />The Operations Control Center is under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations for Classic Helicopter Group, LLC. The OCC will assist the Director of Operations with Operational Supervision and Control for HAA personnel and aircraft. The Operations Control Specialist will have operational control to &#8220;advise, suggest, and direct&#8221; a Helicopter Air Ambulance pilot. Meaning, the OCS will advise the HAA pilot of any potential hazards along proposed routes, suggest possible mitigation strategies, and in the absence of any effective mitigation strategies, the OCS will have the operational control authority to direct the HAA pilot to decline the flight, divert the flight, or terminate the flight. After providing their direction however, the authority for making final decisions still remains with the PIC of that aircraft.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Example&#8217;s of Duties and Responsibilities: </div><div><br />&#8226; Verifying that only crewmembers trained and qualified in accordance with the applicable regulations are assigned to conduct a flight (when applicable). &#8226; Ensuring that crewmembers are in compliance with flight and duty time requirements when departing on a flight. &#8226; Designating a PIC for each flight (when applicable). &#8226; Providing the PIC and other personnel who perform operational control functions with access to the necessary information for the safe conduct of the flight (such as weather, NOTAMS, and airport analysis). &#8226; Ensuring that each flight has complied with the conditions specified for release prior to departure. &#8226; Ensuring that when the conditions specified for a flight’s release cannot be met, the flight is either canceled, delayed, re-routed, or diverted. &#8226; Monitoring the progress of each flight and initiating timely actions when the flight cannot be completed as planned, including diverting or terminating a flight. &#8226; Additional duties and responsibilities may be required and assigned by the Flight Center Manager and/or Director of Operations.</div><div></div>
