A few guys I've seen actually have suction cup mounts on the windows to hook their airway manuals up.The suction mount might be actually be a great option. I'll take a look next time I fly, but it seems like parts of the window might be too curved to for a reliable suction mount. But it sounds like I might be wrong in that assumption.
Where are you getting your info? The last I hear the company was going to install a mount in every airplane.I'm sure someone will have the details, but at eagle we were going to have to buy our own mount. It was a suction cup mount that will attach to the DV window. I guess the faa gave its blessing to this mount.

I have a CrewAid from when I flew the -145 (same windows); I don't think it works for a full size iPad but it might be just right for the iPad mini.
I go back Sunday.Well I'll be around LAX for the next couple of days if you happen to have it with you. We could see if it fits.
Chris H when he was still in his previous position. I did a crp turn with him and he told me that was going to be the mount. I had thought they (Ae) was going to provide a mount as well. Ha should have known better.Where are you getting your info? The last I hear the company was going to install a mount in every airplane.

I'll toss it into my kitbag and give it a try next time, just subjectively it feels like it won't hold the thing securely.I also use the crew aid holder, it works great with my iPad.

JF told our recurrent class in DEC that we will have to buy the suction mount. I think he said it is around $100. Also said that when we approve jepps, there will also be a different back up battery that will have to be used rather than a current one. Told us that there is no plan from flight ops tech to provide any assistance with payment for these (no free ipads, mounts, batteries, rebates, etc.). It will be on your own dime. Flight ops tech is still having a tough time selling the jepps on the ipad to the bean counters because it is pretty expensive (supposedly) for that subscription on top of already getting the paper subscriptions.
I can only imagine the fustercluck this will cause us in terms of W&B with one pilot having their kit bag and the other using the iPad and mount. Could be a fiasco as big or bigger than our crew bag locations!
Plus, that info came from JF. You know, the same guy that was a couple years late in realizing that we didn't have the gust lock AD anymore.

Yeah. The whole "EVERY SINGLE TIME" and the elimination of the wait 10 seconds, which is still in our AOM. However, they have admitted that leaving the 10 seconds in our manual was an oops, and should have been deleted.
