At the local Flying club, where I`m member they just got this plane and I bought some hours on it.

I did my CFI on an Arrow III, I loved the plane...

The Embraer 711C (Corisco) is a Brazilian built Arrow IV Turbo (they use to build under license most piper single and multi engine piston airplanes). The bird is brand new, they are very expensive to fly here so it has really low time...

Any thoughts on the arrow IV? any advices? The CFI I`m gonna fly with for the ck out is probably not going to have a clue about the plane.....

according to wikipedia:

[edit] Brazilian and Argentinian production

PA-28s were built under licence in Brazil as the Embraer EMB-711A and EMB-711C Corisco (PA-28R-200), EMB-711B (PA-28R-201), EMB-711T (PA-28RT-201) and EMB-711ST Corisco Turbo (PA-28RT-201T) and the EMB-712 Tupi (PA-28-181). Argentinian production was carried out by Chincul SA of San Juan, Argentina. Chincul SA built 960 airplanes between 1972 and 1995, including the Cherokee Archer, Dakota, Arrow, Turbo Arrow.[15]

Apparently, the 711-C is not the turbo version and still has the hershey bar wing.

If it is a T-tail, they don't have enough elevator, tends to land flat if you are too slow. Otherwise, they fly just like any other Cherokee ;)

I don't know any reason why it wouldn't be as well built as the Pipers.

because everything that´s built under license here it's really low quality, take the chevrolet cars here, they are in fact German Opels built under license with a chevrolet logo on it. From the plastic used, to the weldings everything is low quality.

Aviation is probably an other chapter, I have only tested some Light Sport and I wouldn't go back on one.....the 145s 170s are an other story.

I love Brazil, but they have this stupid way to do things here, they use foreign imports, but one day they wake up and they think that they are better and can built it by themself, and they act like they invented it....but at the end it's just a low quality product that is not even cheap. A Fiat here costs as much as it does in Europe, a Fiat 500 (which is built in Poland) is sold for 36K dollars (twice as much than in Europe), just so that they can sell their stuff...

You haven't seen a Chevrolet built Chevrolet lately, have you?
