EMB 170/175

I'm on a Republic EMB 170/175 ( don't know which exact model ). I'll take on of these any day of the week over the 135 or CRJ, but i've noticed my ears pop like crazy on this thing! Everytime I fly on one of these i'm constantly equalizing, yet never have to on any other type. Anyone else experience this?

Also...Why no over wing exits on a plane this size?

The A/T over reacts at times (or an abrupt pilot intervention) and the outflow valve is slow to correct for in the low or high influx of pressure from the change in bleed pressure to the PACs. We can see it up as the cabin climb rate will go up or down on level off or starting a decent.

No over wing exits because they have aft exit doors instead. That allow for evacuation with in the required time.

Because, despite what some people will tell you, it's really still an RJ and it isn't big enough to require more than a front and rear exit to get everybody out in the allotted time during an emergency.

they see me trolling....

But it has underwing engines and slats! :)

Ive always been curious. How did RAH get the call sign, Brickyard? (said in my deepest voice) ;)

Probably has something to do with the location of the headquarters. Just a WAG. Oh and we don't think we're mainline... we just get spoiled not having to mess with the circus that is most commuter ramps ;)

I don't fly for YX, but the guys I know there are just like the rest of us, underpaid and agitated wanting better pay, QOL, new contract blah blah blah . The aircraft itself is infinitely more comfortable to fly in as a pax and jumpseat in though. As for Brickyard, I think its because of the Brickyard 500 in Indy? (where company HQ is). The finish line is lined with a brick wall, VHP vor in Indy is called Brickyard also.

Naw, manliness has more to do with a Navajo and a broke cabin heater. Ask me how I know.....
Checked that box too. A few times in -30. Not fun.

But on a more manlier note:

Reminds me of a time when we had a pack differed. Dulles to Minny. The cockpit was freezing cold trying to keep up pressurization and cabin temp. It think the cockpit remained 19C the whole time. Did you know I actually had to put on a jacket? This was blasphemy!
