EMB-145 weird shape???

Anyone know the story behind this odd shaped EMB-145???? Is it an airforce plane?

Yes, it's a military reconnaissance version of the aircraft. The bulges and protrusions are various types of communication and jamming equipment. The brazilian air force uses these aircraft, primarily in counter-smuggling operations if I recall correctly. The United States military briefly considered ordering a simliar aircraft, but could not get the airframe to carry all the equipment they wanted without becoming too heavy.

I believe the radar version is called the R-99. In the first and last photos you can see somewhat clearly "Força Aérea Brasileira" displayed on the fuselage.

if you go to embraer's website, you can also see e145's decked out with anti-sub torpedo's/missles.
