Elvis' Jetstar for sale

I can not hear or see the name Elvis without immediately thinking of this man.

This Jetstar will pay for itself if you find enough of The King's juices on the sofa and know where to market them.

So he wasn't working at a Burger King in Kalamazoo, as had been supposedly seen a few decades ago? :)

I would assume someone has already looked into that. The only possible use for this airframe, IMHO, would be on a post outside of a casino in Branson, MO and doing that would cost a bunch of money.

elvis-plane-auction-48985-jpg.

The plane sold for $430,000 on Saturday at a California event featuring celebrity memorabilia, GWS Auctions Inc. said.

The buyer was not disclosed in the sold note posted on the firm's website, and auctioneer Brigitte Kruse said she could not immediately release information about the buyer or the buyer's plans for the plane.

The auction house says Elvis designed the interior that has gold-tone woodwork, red velvet seats and red shag carpet. But the red 1962 Lockheed Jetstar has no engine and needs a restoration of its cockpit.

The jet was owned by Elvis and his father, Vernon Presley, Liveauctioneers.com says.

I read on another non aviation message board that people are speculating the new owner will likely make millions after he buys "an" engine to get it flying again?
