My question is, if my ELT battery is due before the annual inspection, may I change the battery myself, in my airplane. Part 43 preventive maintenance states it is OK to change batteries, is this all batteries. :dunno:
Yes, but remember it requires both a logbook entry and the expiration date marked on the transmitter.
14 CFR 91.207(c) The new expiration date for replacing (or recharging) the battery must be legibly marked on the outside of the transmitter and entered in the aircraft maintenance record.
