Electronic logbook requirements for CAE

Headed to CAE 8/17 for Beechjet initial/ATP and was wondering what they will want as far as logbook goes. I only keep an electronic logbook. Should I just print it and take it? What about them entering sims sessions? Anyone have any experience with this?

I've gone through 4 CAE courses and have never had a problem with my electronic logbook on my iPad. As for entering sim sessions, my instructors did not sign my logbook but instead said print out your training records(that they do sign) after the course and enter it into your logbook from there.

Since you're doing the ATP there you will probably have to prove that you're eligible under 61.159 or whatever grounds you are qualified under.

When I was at CAE they didn't ask for any of my logbooks, but I already had an ATP.

Disclaimer: I work in a different program but this should be the same because I'm pretty sure the form is generic.

On day 1 of ground school you're going to get this I think six page packet stating what you're doing (since they'll already know you're doing the ATP and type). It'll have various pages for different options, including one that has a time summary if you're going for the ATP and another for SOE. You'll fill that out and give it to your ground instructor.

Checkride day you have to show your logbook to the examiner officially to get the ATP (or not get SOE). There's no reason an electronic one won't work, whether paper or electronic it's still relying on your honesty. If anything it'll be a quick glance then onto the oral.

Enjoy it. I'll be at the other end of the hall from the Beechjet sim so we'll likely run into one another.
