Electronic E6B

I am sick of using a manual flight computer. Can anyone recommend a good electronic E6B? I know ASA and Sporty's make them, but are there any others? Which is the best? Please help save me from this slide rule-esque hell.

I used to use the ASA one, the E2B or whatever it was called. It was a fine one, that product. I also got one for my Palm Pilot, there is a ton of software out there for aviation programs.

Good luck, you'll never go back to a manual E6B again. In fact, I had to re-learn the manual one when I became a CFI!!

Ditto..I havent used a manual one since the middle of my pvt training. I got mine from Sporty's and it works great. In fact, its so easy and quick to use (once you learn it) that Ive used it before to determine my fuel consumption, etc. and decided to divert for fuel. Turns out, it saved me from being a statistic :)

I have a Jeppesen Tech Star that is alright. Sometimes the buttons need to be pushed quite hard to get the number punched in. Not sure if that is just mine, or if others have the same issue. Not a big deal, but it does sometimes prohibit "rapid punching" of the numbers. Other than that, I really can't complain about it. Overall I would recommend it, but keep in mind that this is the opinion of someone who hasn't tried any other kinds.

Those electronic ones look too complicated for me. I'll stick to the paper one, with all the directions written right on it.

I like my manual... no batteries! Spin it and look at the information, can't get any easier than that.

Right on brother. Although don't get me wrong, I won't be trading in my scientific calculator for an abacus anytime soon.

Speaking of e6bs, what should me a student get for my flight bag (if I need one) David Clark headsets good for a student or to expensive(13.4)?
kneeboard, charts, flashlights ect.???? Please be as specific as possible, if you can. this is the place to ask, thanks for the help guys.

I like the Sporty's Electronic E6B. I have had students use the flat version as well as the regular version, and in my opinion if you drop the flat version on the floor it is almost impossible to pick up until the end of the flight. Just my .2$
