A few years back I was with a student and I noticed the ammeter go kaput so I had him haul buttocks back home. We were just south of Daytona's class C. They wanted to vector us out to Orlando to come in and I let them know what was up. They gave us priority and as we were taxiing in ground told us our radio was barely readable. The battery crapped the bed right about the time we made it back to the MX hangar because the radios went dark on us. Fun stuff!
I wouldn't even consider Daytona's Class C close to the ADIZ. Good job!
