That about sums it up.....
i thought the steaming colgan went on top of you?Goes great on top of a steaming Colgan.
That's funny...everyone is ready to posse up and head down to memphis to crack heads and it's not even the 16th. My pay hit my account last night. Guess most of us still have emotional baggage from the first couple of times they didn't pay on time.
I think I get paid again on the 16th for this XJ integration crap. Love it.Kinda what I was thinking.. Pay day is the 16th.. Isn't it a nicety that they pay us early?
So the union is the bad guy on this one? Really dude? I'm with Seggy, if you don't like it put on a volunteer hat or shut your yap.
No the union isn't the one that screwed this up, but they are the ones letting the company get away with it.
Others have said that as pilots we should call in sick until we get paid, but why should I be using my sick time for something that the company screwed up?
Generally I like the union and I would be more than happy to volunteer, in fact I plan on it when I move bases in a couple months. My problem is that ALPA sells themselves on being a large national union that has the resources, i.e. lawyers to help enforce contracts that they negotiate in the first place. This isn't the first time that the company hasn't paid us on time and it certainly isn't the first time that the company has violated the contract. And as others have said, I pay my dues and I expect to see something for that 1.9%.
Right now I just feel like the union is a big dog with a loud bark and no bite. I might be too sensative and frustrated with the current circumstances and it was a cheap shot at the union, but for some reason it seems like nobody on either side of the table has accountability and it's during the trying times that I think people need be the most accountable.
Thanks, it's good to hear things do happen. As I said I took a cheap shot at the union that wasn't needed and really it was out of frustration at everything that's happening right now.About the dog and no bite.......I was MEC Chair at CJC when they didn't pay us in January 2011. When they didn't I immedietly called our ALPA lawyer. It was explained to me that as long as the company pays any fees incurred for not making payroll there is nothing legally ALPA or any union can do. When I called management they told me that they would pay the fees to make anyone whole and communicated to that pilot group that same day.
So within the legal framework the company ponied up what they needed to and not one pilot had an issue getting their fees back. I don't want to come across as apologizing for the company, not getting paid is a huge deal, but legally they met their obligations.
Glad you are looking to volunteer!
Phht. Ok.It is frustrating as hell and I feel your pain. I feel the same way about getting paid on time. I think calling in sick is a bad idea. All it is going to do is create more animosity and overall just screw somebody else with a jm or extension. Like you said, it really comes down to work ethics.
Then you must have a bad work ethic for questioning the Kr3at0rz (sarcasm tag). When is there ever going to be accountability in this company. When I show up for a 4 day, I'm held accountable from the minute I sign in to the minute I sign out. Why every 2 weeks I have to worry if money will be deposited in my bank account. Why every other week I have to file a payroll discrepancy form. I don't care if the company changed banks. This wasn't an overnight change in banks. Why do we as employees that are held accountable for everything we do being subject to this. It really is sad. What this company and this profession has come to.
Then you must have a bad work ethic for questioning the Kr3at0rz (sarcasm tag).
I'm all for bashing the company, but it's you'ze guyz banks.. I got paid..
Eh, we'll see. It's now Tuesday after midnight. To my knowledge, Wings hasn't screwed a direct deposit up. Hopefully, it'll show up sometime in the middle of the night. I'm more inclined to think some data entry worker that's more concerned about listening to the radio put some numbers in the computer wrong on Nonconn ^D^D One Commerce Square. If it's not there tomorrow, I'll be calling people as soon as they walk in the office. Ironically, it was supposed to be a live check this time around, which I would have had in my hand on Friday. Somehow, they got the direct deposit thing going in under 7 days. Unprecedented.
