Eagles Win!!!!!

Handy to know if an aircraft is out of service/ broken/ almost fixed/ where a flight attendant is coming from/ if an aircraft is routed for a line check etc.
So you just use it as a read-only tool? You dont swap aircraft or do any changes to them like the sector mangers do?

But isnt the flight already assigned a orgin - destination and aircarft/tail number in dispatch monitor? If an aircraft is broken, it wouldnt be assigned any flights. Also for crew issues doesn't crew scheduling usually handle where crews and coming from and crew logistics?

A broken plane may have flights on it if it is anticipated to be no longer broken. Dispatchers need to be aware of when the ac is back in service or anticipated. Its also handy for them to be able to answer the "where is my captain/fo/fa's its almost departure time. Instead you of transferring a call to a probably busy crew scheduler, you can say well the fa is coming in from this flight, which just blocked in 2 gates down and she will be there shortly." It makes you look and sound more professional and aware. If someone knows quickly the mx issues on a flight or crew situation or whatever, when the time comes to give a brief on the flight (if needed) it will be that much more credible because the crew knows youve been on the mark and aware so why doubt that you know the w eather, too.

So now you're telling dispatchers who use sabre how it works. Just worry about getting your license, troll.

Most airlines use Outlook, perhaps he should a thread about it as well. There's a lot of nuances with that program that he might need clarification with, you know, for the license.
I guess he doesn't under sarcasm unless you mark it as sarcasm.

Hey, you can go check out the Rodchester thread where he’s second guessing airline pilots with all his PVT flying experience.
It's pretty funny that he's questions the professionals when he can't even spell Rochester right. He probably 2nd guesses auto-correct as well.
