Eagle Pilot has impromptu pizza party

How did an Eagle pilot afford that?

Easily....

I've been to a Sanford, FL CiCi's pizza...

On a WEEKEND...

You know, in retrospect, I think getting a tetanus shot was money well spent later that evening.

Damn, I didn't know they had CiCi's that far east.

I sure do love me a CiCi's visit. Of course, I am still young and my body can still take that kind of abuse. :sarcasm:...but not really.

In my drunjen stupor I wanted to look up sir michael smith so I could write him a letter and commend him for being a baller, but, as you would assume, there are 1,035,464 michael smiths in the FAA airman registry. TX, IL, etc, did not help.

Stan, or any other AE guys want to forward the info, or let me know how to contact him, please do.

I'm totally serious, I'd write this guy a letter.

I think that was an awesome, and very generous thing to do my self. I know when that situation happens to me in the future, it's gonna be hard for me to simply keep the flight deck door closed and do nothing. Gestures like that go a LOOONG way when things are'nt going well.

I still remember when I flew as an E-3 crewmember in the USAF, we were in the plane, broke on the ramp, with weather moving into the area where we were fragged to fly. After 4 hours in the plane waiting for "the part" and weather to move on, a truck pulls up with a dozen dominos pizzas that our AC ordered. The whole crew (24 of us) thought he was the shizznit!! It just set the tone from that moment on it was a great tdy! Never forgot it.

Oh..., and to hell with the media, word of mouth goes along way. :)

I know that place, is it in that Walmart shopping center? I went in there once when I was a student pilot, It smelled like roach spray. Now up the road there is a hole in the wall place called the Rib Ranch, talk about good BBQ!!

Cici's is awesome! If you're like me, and have never eaten a bad pizza, than CiCi's is great - you can take a pizza home for like $5! I lived off of their buffet while in college. Good times!

With all the pilot bashing going on in the media lately I wanted to spread the word of great people in this industry. This was in the Dallas Morning News letter to the editor.

Eagle pilot does his part

With the trouble we have been having with rain and delayed flights, we had an unusual experience on American Eagle last week.

Just as we were 10 minutes out of D/FW, we were diverted to Waco. With no idea how long the wait would be, our pilot had pizza delivered to the entire plane, which he paid out of his own pocket. He would not accept any cash from any of us, saying it was his party.

One hears of so many nightmare stories about flying lately that I'd like to thank Capt. Mike Smith of American Eagle.

Nancy Ulrich, Tyler

This kind of thing has been going on for weeks. We just don't get to read about it.

Yesterday, I had to go to ABI to do a MX flight - and of course, the plane was nowhere near ready - by the time it was, DFW had a ground stop.

Four planes diverted to ABI.

While the captain and I sat in OPs, Suzy, the GM ordered a BUTT-TON of pizza for any pax/crewmember that was hungry (a total of about 50 pizzas).

She informed us that Eagle is probably going to get pissed, but she's already spent well over $1000.00 in pizzas since June.

The thing is, only a handful (one pax as you read here) even has the courtesy to say "THANK YOU!" for something an airline employee didn't have to do, but did out their own desire to make the customer happy.

That's the reality of it.

Yes, but for the ones who did say "Thank you," I agree with Beechlover...

...word of mouth goes along way. :)

I had a great experience with Hawaiian Airlines once and I've never forgotten that and always mention it when talking about that trip.

You know, have you ever thought how you can use the same household products you already use, but make a little money back when you buy them? My friend Tommy has been part of this program and huh....man, lemme tell you, he's making more doing THAT than he does doing THIS. I mean, huh, this is just what he does to keep health benefits and non-rev between golf games.
