Eagle Hiring

I just wanted to let everyone know, I have successfully interviewed for this position and will be staring training on August 12th. Thanks to all who contribute on this forum you were all ton of help the last few months.

To everybody else and especially all you fresh out of school folks, keep on trying, I've sent out tons of resumes over the last year and I finally got a call when I was least expecting it.

Here's to hoping Doug Parker won't kill my dreams anytime soon...

Congratulations. We will love having you in Eagle dispatch. Eagle has one of the best dispatch groups in all of the airlines. Training is intense but you will learn from people with 15-30 years dispatching. The guys doing OJT training are some the most experienced regional dispatchers in the business. 70% of the dispatch seniority list is topped out on the payscale.

There will be a lot of movement at Eagle in the coming months. AA will be taking 3-4, maybe more dispatchers in the next class. Rumours are that AA wants to have 4 classes per year to replace the old guys that are at retirement age. Many of the senior guys that never applied to American are either applying now or thinking about doing so because Eagle's long term future looks pretty bleak right now.

Your class will be pretty lucky since they are running two classes of 6. This group of 6 are replacing one dispatcher that died, two retirements, two promotions, one that went to Southwest and another that left the industry, plus two that are on long term personal/maternal leave. The next group will likely replace another guy or two going to Southwest plus the ones going to AA. There may be some more retirements as well since there are several guys at Eagle getting up there in years and may take the retirement package.

The good about Eagle: the schedule. There is a guy that takes everyone's preferences for days off and work shifts and tries to get people a schedule that they want but couldnt get because they are too junior to bid it. People add and drop shifts all the time. You may only be able to bid a crappy line but can get a good schedule through the monthly schedule shuffle that goes on. Many very senior dispatchers bid reserve because they can get a better schedule on a relief line than they can through bidding.

Your class will get instant seniority since they are planning a second class right behind yours.
