E175 standard headset vs Boss A20

I remember when APU's were ear-splittingly loud. Now its like "Huh… why bother getting earplugs".

Protect your hearing. I'm starting to see more and more pilots with hearing augmentation.

I was just wondering if any of you use the David Clarks that come in the 175, and weather or not it's worth buying the Bose A20s. I have the Zulu2s and love ANR but apparently they aren't TSO'd

Sound quality aside, I can't fathom wanting to use the headsets that everyone else in the company has used at some point. Nope nope nope nope.

I have the Bose QC15 with the U Fly Mike setup. Well worth the money and you can use them on the commute to mute out the screaming kids

It might have been some sort of interface between the headset itself and the ACP, but there was something weird about the audio whenever a Captain I flew with on the 175 had that combination plugged in.

I have the A20s on the 175 and it certainly makes a difference, I haven't flown with any other headset in the cockpit but you definitely notice when you forget to turn the ANR on or when the batteries die. They are much more comfortable than my older DC 13.4s as well, especially on longer days.

In a 207? Love me some A20. Should try the A20s next trip, but I've been rocking locals lately, so I just have my flight bag, and th Bosun's are more to lug around.

1) Which DC Pro X are folks referring to with regards to their experience in the 175? The passive or the active noise cancelling Pro X? Seems to be a $300 difference between the two.
2) Also, thoughts on the Bose 25/UFlyMike and/or Clarity Aloft? (I like the idea of using the Bose while commuting and from the UFlyMike website, they will TSO approve the setup - however not a fan of having to replace batteries)

Haven't had to buy a pair of headsets in 20 years ...

My a rechargeable battery. Cost lile $15. Come with two pair and a charger. Keep one pair as back up. While the other charges at home. Great investment.

Honestly, I leave the ANR off on mine much of the time...
