E-logbooks?

Hey there-
just wondering if anyone had suggestions on electronic logbook software-- I'd like to start a back-up, but not looking to spend lots of $$.
Thanks-
J

Hey jjm,
I chose Logbook Pro after trying four different shareware products. It is really user friendly. It allows the printing of reports in so many different ways (by category, type, rating, month, year, etc.) You can edit the fields to meet your needs. It keeps track of your currencies, and it allows you to print it in different styles of logbooks.

Logbook Pro is easy and quick to enter flights into. For example, before you start using the logbook for the first time, you have to enter the aircraft you have flown. In that option you will enter the category, class, type, and so forth. Let's say it is a Cessna Citation. It is a high Perf, multi, complex aircraft with turbine engines. When you enter any flight in this aircraft, all those fields are automatically entered by the program. You can also configure it to fill other fields such as PIC, SIC, x-country, automatically for any aircraft if that is the only type of flying you do in that particular aircraft. In my opinion, you can't go wrong buying this product. I am not advertising for the company, I don't work for them, but my experience with this product and the others led me to choose this one.

Considering this is your first and only post here it sure seems like an ad.

As someone who has more than one post, I guess my opinion counts? I'll second the praises for LogbookPro. I've been using it for a couple years now and have no complaints. It's a great program with great support.

I just wish I could get someone to transfer my first 4000 hours into it!

I really don't like arguments and I usually try to avoid them. But, considering I have been a member of the forum for about two days or so, I had to start posting sometime.

That being said, in all honesty I think aviation forums are a great way for all pilots to make themselves aware of certain aspects of the aviation industry. There seem to be numerous topics (good topics) in which the author either states a good question, comment or opinion. However, the threads end up having comments in which the repliers are getting in pissing contests with other repliers. In the end, the original intent of the message gets lost and the post has gone on a tangent with irrelevant text. Those negative posts are not helping the person whose intent was legitimate.

Just my two cents. I apologize for having taken jjm's post on a tangent. Let's get back to answering his original question about choosing a logbook.

Sincerely,
Luis

Welcome to the forums. I'm just suspicious when someone wholehartedly endorses a product as soon as the registration goes through - it's happened before.

thanks-

Thanks for the input!
Time to start shopping... and welcome aboard, UH60
