Hello,

Does any one have any experience with Dynamic Aviation? I'm considering applying but I would like to know more first hand what it is like working for them.

Thanks!

Yeah it was these guys so know what you're getting into...

I have on the ISR side.. but that was around 9 years ago now. It was a good company then... would think they are still a good place to work depending on what type of flying you’re looking for.

The bread and butter for Dynamic is the overseas ISR contracts. The standard airplane for ISR operators is a King Air 350. Dynamic departs from it a bit by using DHC-8s which is pretty different. One of the other differences with Dynamic is they also do a lot of other interesting contract flying. Think mosquito control in Panama. I have a lot of friends in the business, and they also perceive that Dynamic is a "little more genteel" and "Christian" than most of the other operators. Contract ISR attracts some rough individuals though, so they're probably just normal.

I’ve met a couple of pilots that worked for Dynamic and they were graduates of Letourneau University. The CONUS flying is mostly mosquito spraying and fruit fly dispersment, they tried a 121 operation for a short while, and occasional survey. The majority of the work is OCONUS ISR flying. IIRC they’ll hire lower time pilots with A&Ps.

Oh, so mind control and human submission flights.

Those killed weren’t DA, but the company also has CONUS opportunities.
Those guys were not Dynamic. But there is that risk with any operation in this busines.

Ok they worked for L3

I believe for their king air captain survey flying they offer in the 50s and expect you to move to Virginia, but I think their FOs don't make much. They also wanted me to pay my own way to travel to and from the interview so I just kind of stopped it there, but they do get some interesting opportunities now and then and for someone with the right amount of time it might make sense.

Blame the monkeys. It’s their fault. No offense @jynxyjoe
No entiendo...

Monkeys?? You mean the monkeys with BMWs Humvees? The monkeys who serve as flagged security guards for the corporate interests who keep putting more and more actual monkeys on the endangered species lists??

The wildlife. They’re everywhere and get into EVERYTHING. Case in point, a few days into a multiple week adventure and one of them absconds with one’s connection to civilization — the blessed iPhone. “FUBAR” would be a massive understatement.

Damn! I would LOVE to have more monkeys like that around... Can we breed them in captivity for domestic utility?? I mean, even if it's my evolutionary ancestor who's demonstrating our apparent genetic proclivity toward shiny objects, at least I would no longer be shackled to a damned phone.

I've had several friends work there in several different departments of theirs all the way from the California MedFly operation to Oil Spill Response and Recovery in the Gulf, Airborne Data Acquisition (ADA), and ISR (Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance). I interned there while I was working on my A&P as well. Let me know if you want me to put you in touch with a friend of mine that still works there.
