Duats also requires an active pilot certificate and medical. The FAA gives them the database and it can be 9 months old. Not sure this bodes well...

Does it require a medical? I guess Sport pilots are out of luck...

Hmm not sure how they deal with that. If they succeed in canceling the class 3 medical, there'll have to be an international drivers license route I guess.
