DTW based pilots: Areas to live near the airport?

Sweet. Thanks for the help.

I do not have a family and my SO is in Indi. I'd really like to be in AA or at least close by, if I can find a way to not break my wallet doing so. There's just more to offer there for me compared to a lot of the other SE MI cities...my rock climbing gym, good bars, sports, etc etc. Plus it'd be nice to have stuff to do when the lady comes and visits, as there's not much to do where I'm at right now.

I actually went to Gordon my last time around. Previously I was traveling for a previous job so much, I hadn't used anyone from MI. Not a bad experience...tad pricey. I'll check out Cookingham though.

What part of Indy is your SO in?

Roseville. Buy my house. 35 mins to the airport. It's a nice neighborhood, we are down to only 4 shootings this month so far. Only 1 was murdered last month on the next block so we are on the up swing! Seriously cheap living. Cant rent a couch for what we pay for a whole house.

Dude.

The entire city of Ann Arbor is nothing more than a giant genital measuring contest. Planet Rock is just an extension of this.

SLC was weird, but it was a weird I could handle. This is...well...at least the food is good.

I mean, @jtrain609 tends to exaggerate, especially when it seems like the sky is falling. PR is probably the only place I see the "bros" breaking out rulers to see who's "bigger".

Food is good, there's decent parks and night life, and there are cheaper options that are just on the other side of an arbitrary line that still have everything you might want.

Right now my hard life choices are whether to break out the bike or hit the river in a kayak for some afternoon day drinking...it could be worse.

Spend some time up at the university. It's... impressive.

I lived in Belleville for a period of time, it's not a bad area, especially if you get south of the lake out into the country. A friend of mine still lives there and enjoys it, makes for a quick drive to the airport.

I have family in Howell and Brighton. Under an hour drive to DTW.

If Delta called I’d probably move there myself

You hear China Gate shut down?

I did not know that. That's a shame, after so long. A quick google search shows they're being kicked out by the developer, but might be moving to a new TBD location?

Can't lie though, I never did China Gate. If I was getting Chinese, I'd usually order from Middle Kingdom that used to be on Main, next to Prickly Pear. If I was feeling Asian in general, it was usually just No Thai or Totoro Sushi up on State Street.

I miss the food of Ann Arbor but not the people. People were so damn pretentious out there. We used to live next to Jtrain in Ann Arbor. I had a dog that looked like a sausage because it wore a harness and was tubby. Kinda looked like Rambo from The Oatmeal. He remembers.

Plymouth isn't exciting but its a nice town, ive been out there numerous times. I try to avoid living anywhere close to Willow Run or DTW... its worth the drive to not deal with that. Is Ypsi still a dump?
