I don't want to run afoul of @Derg but it sounds like a really great and ethical shop owner and I wouldn't mind knowing who this guy is and where. Sounds like a place to do business.

Last time I did it, it was pretty close to 3 months from the time the engine left the hangar floor until it was back. Of course coming from Alaska 5 weeks of that was shipping.

My guess is.... nothing. The damaged parts were probably replaced and the engine is fine, but that isn't the point.

Interesting addition to this thread, a shipper we use dropped a TIO540 going back as a core exchange and Aviall wouldn't take it even as a core.

Well, it got complicated for reasons I won't go into on a public forum but suffice to say someone's insurance is paying for it.
