It was really a test for ops specs to list KAAO as a suitable take-off alternate.

Said it for a while, they ought to make these real cockpits a little more realistic looking, damn simulator kids can't tell the difference no more.

I think Seaboard made the crew fly the DC-8 they landed at Marble Mountain off and over to Danang. Something like "You put it there, YOU get it out of there...."

Yep. However, I think they were very professional on the radio considering what just happened. I know in that seat I'd be worried about what the rest of my life was going to look like and they did a good job dealing with it once it had happened.

Yup, let's keep blaming poor aviating on fatigue. Two damn pilots, a highly automated jet, and you land at the wrong airport. Once you land you think you're actually at another airport, but are wrong about that too. A complete and total lack of SA.

Forget taking responsibility for screwing the pouch, let's just blame it on fatigue!

That's right, because you are a sky god and could never possibly make a mistake. But I'm sure you have plenty of long haul cargo experience. Oh wait, you fly 2 hours at a time in a metro. Never mind.

I fly 16 hour duty days on the wrong side of the clock in an metro with no automation. I usually fly 6-8 hours a night with some of the legs being 6 hours long with no AP. So yea, fatigue, I know a little about it.
