S'up Matthew!
I'm actually laying over in CVG this evening. Not that impressed with the city, but I found a place that actually served bar snackies after 2200 so life is ok.

Some one on here said that DL doesn't operate 88's into SLC
[/ QUOTE ]
For the most part, yes, but there have been MD-88's that have operated into SLC due to reroutes or abnormal ops. On a cursory level, the statement is true, but considering SLC is 4432 (approx) and DEN is 5431 and I've operated a number of regularly scheduled MD-88's in and out of SLC with a higher density altitude than SLC, I think it's more planning than it is actual performance limitations. The furthest west I've seen MD-88's scheduled is TUS/PHX/DEN/LAX whereas the MD-90's are normally able to be scheduled system-wide.
I've seen AA S80's in SLC. Methinks it's because of lighter planned loads and/or smalller aircraft. Consider that an MD-88 is nothing more than an MD-82 with more seats (read: less performance) and an MD-90 is nothing more than an MD-88 with more power and more seats.
I think it's more maximum performance load planning than it is absolute performance planning. Besides, I flew a full MD-88 out of KRNO to KDFW, including fuel reserve to be able to make KLIT and had a few thousand pounds of tolerance to work with on the climb/performance limit.

Lastly when you showed up today did they know you were the famed Doug Taylor of Jetcareers fame and greet you as such...

Plain old Doug Taylor which is the way I prefer it. I'm actually a very private person.
