Double Eagele in Tucson

Does anyone have any experience with this flight school. Doing some research and seems like this is a pretty good option for a 5 day commercial. Please excuse misspell in title. It's Double Eagle.

Thank you for any feedback you can provide.

I considered doing my CFI there, but since I didn't have the time to commit to the accelerated program, they really couldn't fit me in. They pretty much just do accelerated programs, but they were respectful to deal with. I have also taken a couple writtens there. You need to show up ready to pass your oral and be pretty proficient in the maneuvers. You're pretty much going to fly each maneuver a couple times and then go straight into checkride prep over the 5 days.
For what it's worth, last I knew if you put $1000 (might be $2000) down at Sonoran Wings @ KTUS, you get a discount of somewhere in the 10-15% range. That makes the dual cost of their Mooney (M20C) around 180-$200/hr. You can do 10-15 hours in the mooney for around $2000-$2500, 5 hours of oral prep for $250, it may end up cheaper than DE depending how ready you are. I'm sure they can get you done in a week too, they had plenty of quality instructors there several months back when I did my IPC. They were also looking at a DA40 which I think is coming soon, and a 182 RG.
You can also walk from all the hotels by the airport to the school and places to eat, you can't do that at DE.
Hope this helps, good luck!

I did my COM in a M20F. Power off 180's were the interesting part, trying to find the right combo of gear drop and flaps to not fall like a rock or glide so far past it, most of the time slipping the hell out of it to loose the altitude needed.

Doing the same for CFI training in the 172RG was a breeze

I don't think any two power off 180's in a Mooney are ever the same, they either sink like a rock or refuse to drop, and are very sensitive to wind, better to stay high and then slip like hell...fun times, and a fun plane to fly around.

@GreenWater, let me know if you need any more info about either school, or any other school in the TUS or PHX area.
