Done wrong by Sheble Aviation

Former Controller and Systems Instructor for AA here, reporting another flight training scam, yep Sheble.
They are now operating out of Needles,Ca trying to get out of reach of the FSDO but the Feds are closing in.
Went there in Jan 2014 to finish an advanced course, they took the $$$$ up front and provided the worst training I have ever had......instructor falling asleep while on training flight, other instructor being investigated by FAA for illegal check rides (maybe you read) no formal ground school, no documentation so training, lazy instructors who are instructed to fly MINIMUM flight times with you. You will be rushed to a check ride only to fail and then Sheble is off the hook. So they think. (Lawsuit pending)

When at AA we did accelerated training and it worked fine, but you have to have the resources and dedicated instructors to succeed. I believe Sheble (wife has restraining order against husband and old man Sheble is out of the operation (staying drunk) will be out of business by the end of the year. Avoid this scam.

Sorry to hear. I've known two or three who had good experiences there but it was many years ago.
Have no complaints. Did a comm.SES back in late 90s. It was a quick slam one day $475 deal which I knew up front. Flew 3.5 hrs on the water, Did some ground then took the ride with the old man. Don't think I would jump in a seaplane now since I haven't been near one for years but, I got what I paid for.. Fancy website..

I had a really good experience there getting my CFI in 1/2012, but I've heard they've started to go down hill again (plus, I've heard virtually all of the instructors who were there then are no longer there for various reasons other than simply moving up the career ladder). Sorry you had a bad experience

I also had a really good experience with Sheble back in 2007. I thought it was value for money, and it seemed to me that if one came adequately prepared, they would not have problems, since it was an accelerated program. Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

My experience was poor, as well. Got the job done, but cost way too high... the value wasn't there, and the instruction was questionable.

Sorry to see this about Sheble. I got my CFII and CMEL there. I think it all depends on the instructor you get. I had a great guy who was thoroughly knowledgeable in aviation and did a great job instructing. He was also an instructor for the Military (forget which branch).

Anyways it was a great experience overall. A Fed came down from the Las Vegas FSDO for my check ride and I felt well prepared.

Did my initial CFI back in '06. The old man was a great guy, and Vinny was a superb instructor. Kinda like the good 'ol boys club... laid back and got the job done.
At the same time I have heard that the operation has gone down hill. Too bad.
I'll also say that sometimes schools get a bad rap when the students show up unprepared, fail a ride, then turn to slander. Not saying that's what happened, but be sure to be honest about why you failed. It took me a few years to be honest with myself after my checkride failure.

I felt like I should weigh in in support of the OP mostly because I passed—with little help from my instructor, who signed me off before we even flew together.

I felt that Joe Senior was a good examiner, but overall I was not pleased with the operation. Long story short, I feel like I paid $3k for a commercial ASEL add-on checkride.

I had a good experience there in 2007 but came back a couple years later and had the worst experience I've ever had in aviation. Joe jr. was an appalling person to deal with.
