Done with flying at UND

Did my final stage today for CFII:nana2:
It was my last flight at UND.
My oral was at 11AM and flight at 1:30PM. Passed both and feels amazing to be done w/ flying here.

Two and a half years ago I made my first posts when starting 102 and here I conclude my UND flight lessons.

I took my stage check w/ TUCK—amazing guy full of knowledge and very helpful, indeed, very nice guy.

Feels GREAT to be done!

That's awesome man. I'm getting back into getting CFI done finally. Hopefully I'll knock that out this week. Congrats on getting it done. You know you want to stay and work here though! :D

Congrats Angel. TUCK is the best. By the way, when I passed my II check, I packed and was 2 hours south of Chicago before I pulled into a truck stop to sleep. I hope you are posting from a hotel!!

Congrats, you have instructing job lined up?

Not yet, but there's a possible situation lined up. I have to get my CFI/II/MEI at ATP first. I'm doing that as soon as I get to San Diego (will go to the Las Vegas one). I should have it by mid to end of July.

There are a lot of CFI jobs available in SoCal since everyone's been getting picked up by the airlines... it's that way everywhere anyway.

Good. I am glad you are going to spend some time instructing. "But, but, but Mesa is offering $5000 sign on bonus..."

I want to stay there as long as possible for financial stability... and save up money in the event that I need to live off of $16,000/yr working for an airline. Plus, I'm not in a hurry to get into the airlines. I want to enjoy instructing and relaxing for a while before I start any drastic career change. I have other non-aviation things I need to work on like finishing my RE appraiser's license.

I already have a full-time job unrelated to the aviation industry (which is GOOD) that will be my main financial means of living and paying back student loans. Actually, the side job flight instructing will be more like a way to pay back the loans (assuming I can make $300-400/mo doing that since that's the estimate of my student loan payment).

also check out that jobs available board on some pilots forum..... cant remember the site though..... :)

(btw, LOTS and LOTS of jobs out there right now! take your pick!)

Heck yeah there are. I'll be all done with training at UND this summer but I'll have a whole year before I graduate, so I'm gona try to get hired part-time and most likely leave when I graduate.
