DOJ Approves VA/AS

AA/US integrated post merger. This ended up kinda screwing me as I had a lot of buds hired after merger announcement but before the merger close. Now they are thousands above me. Sucks but what can you do.

Yep. The 12/9 constructive notice date saved me about a thousand numbers easily.

This upcoming merger, I'm not gonna be like last time around. No way, not worth it. All that screamin and beotching can't, won't, and doesn't change the outcome.

Plus, I'm also in the rare "good" spot that both relative and DOH methodologies put me at the same position. Both VX and AS had decent hiring sprees starting 2011/12 onwards. I'm not saying it would be relative or DOH, most likely a ratio method like XJ/9E/9L were. Still, I can't see myself losing much in the SLI.

What number would your DOH would put you on the Alaska list?

I was hired early 2012 so 5 yrs total. Considering Alaska hired ~453 from 2012-2015 and 231 below me at current company (on merger announcement date Apr 4), net result for strict DOH would be ~ 684 below total. So of the 2470 pre-merger pilots, strict DOH for me would be about ~ 1786 out of 2470. This is not adding in any AS newhires from Jan-April 4 2016. Add those in and it's probably 700+ below in a strict DOH. Straight relative (not gonna happen but just saying) for me would be about ~ 68%. So both methods in my case come out about the same. Most likely it's going to be some sort of ratio method after giving AS a large advantage for their much higher longevity, stronger contract, and stability they bring to the merger.

Any idea when the window is going to open again for redwood?

It just opened again for VX as well.

Didn't it use to be 2,500 hours? So much for a pilot shortage.
