So, that gives me the 80% pass rate on the initial attempt. However, my first checkride signoff was in Feb 2012 and in April of 2012 I added my MEI, which served as a renewal.
- I have 12 total signoffs in a 24 month period.
- 8 of them passed on their first time
- 2 failed on their initial go
- Those 2 then passed on their retest
My question is does the MEI add on affect my eligibility for a gold seal + renewal?
I've tried calling the FSDO, but haven't had my call answered or returned yet.
If I'm reading correct, you actually have 10 student signoffs and 2 of then failed once each and passed the retest. If so, then yes you qualify as 8 of your 10 first attempt signoffs were a pass. Just fill out the 8710 or IACRA and take it with copies of your students temporary certs (or other documentation) to the FSDO.
You will retain your gold seal, through renewals and upgrades, provided you don't let your certificate lapse.
