Does this life insurance quote sound reasonable?

Yes. I am employed as a professional pilot.

I think the fact that I have done primary instruction within the last 3 years is contributing to the high quotes. I haven't done it in about 2 years and don't plan on doing it any more but I keep getting the question about doing it in the last 3 years.

I'm still waiting for the quote from AOPA. PicLife came back with 1900 per year underwritten by Lincoln Benifit Life Insurance Company.

I fugured it out. The quotes are so high because I fly for a surveying company. AOPA came in with one quote and then they changed it when they found out that I work as a surveying pilot right now. The rep said that if you do anything other than fly from point A to point B the underwriters consider it high risk.

I find that surprizing because 90 percent of the flying I do is on perfectly clear days. It's much safer than flying IFR and shooting approaches all the time.

She mentioned Group Life Insurance. Do any of the insurance guys/gals have an opinion on that? I don't know what the difference is between Term Life and Group Life. I'm not schooled in Insurance at all.

What I might do is pay for more coverage from the company sponsored insurance and then revisit the term life if and when I get a different job. But the problem with that is I'm not getting any younger.
