Killer.....

Last one I got impaled on the windshield wiper nut. Oh, and I had a 130 knot grasshopper on the windshield wiper taking off the other day. After 100 knots he was holding on with just one leg, at 130 knots he vanished suddenly.

Makes you wonder what's next ???

Same thing happened to me! Except at 130KIAS, his legs were still hanging on (he wasn't, though).

we saw a beetle crawl down the windscreen as we were taxiing clear

As I taxied into position I felt a bit bad that his day was about to change for the worse. I am sure his Vne is well below 130 knots. Poor little guy....

Just wait until you impale one on a pitot tube.

I hit a seagull on the S3 tube of the RJ once. When we landed the bird was stuck, impaled there. The cool part is that the feathers were singed (and I'd guess the meat a little bit cooked) from the probe heater.

I also had a beetle of some sort hang on to about 100 knots on take off once. Sticky little sucker.

Ian you should take a peek sometime after one of those -39's eats a bird. You'll only be interested once. It's an unforgettable smell.

That is pretty cool in a very disturbing way.
