Does anybody know?

I heard a rumor to that effect the last time I was at the observation deck, but don't know if it is true or not. I would think there'd be a good view of 23L arrivals on the upper level of the new GA terminal building between Piedmont Hawthorne and Southern Jet once they get that opened up.
Last time I was at the observation deck was right after the F-18 accident, when 14/32 and 5R/23L were still closed. Got to see lots more airplanes than usual since everybody was using that side of the airport.

Hey, I emailed a woman over at RDU and this is her response.
"Thank you for your comments regarding the observation park. At this time, we are aware of no plans to build an additional observation park at any other location on airport property. However, the airport continues to experience growth and renovation; and we have yet to be informed regarding what the future renovation plans will involve for the Terminal A area. We hope that you will continue to enjoy the observation area at RDU."
