Hey I knew it was Doolittle from the Jeppesen video
Since the last one was so easy it seems, here is one that is hopefully more challenging...
What is it (make and model)?
Why is it important to aviation history?

I'll take a shot.
I believe there were a couple of different variants, but it looks like a Stearman PT-13.
Some time after WW1 most military pilots got to use them as a primary trainer. Thousands were made and used to train pilots through WW2.
If anyone hasn't done so, they should read the Wiki about Jimmy Doolittle. Brilliant and amazing man and aviator. Also the only winner of the Medal of Honor AND the Medal of Freedom. Interesting stuff. Perhaps the greatest that ever lived. Won all the major races of the day - the Thompson, Bendix and Schneider. He also won 3 DFC's and several air medals. The guy was bad ass and also had a PhD in engineering.
Not to mention the guts to fly B-25s off of a carrier...
