Do pilots/crew hang out?

30 and nowhere close. I did however buy a house last year, so channeling the home depot on a Saturday meme hard. I try to start trips on Sundays so at least I can be home on Thursday for cutting the lawn and other home MX garbage.
Ya that's why the weekdays off are best IMO but I'm also an "old" man at the ripe old age of 29 who doesn't do young/single guy stuff. I was saying for me weekends off will change when our daughter is older.

It's like we are one in the same. Except a few more kids in the mix. Same same though.

The war on dandelions is a real thing!

My dog loves going to Home Depot as much as I do.

Not so sure what the big deal with wrecking your career over weekends off.

If your kids are teens, they could really give less of a poop if you're there or not because you're in the way of their social schedule, you can't get a seat at a decent restaurant in a reasonable amount of time, no Lowes because it's slammed and your wife wants to drag you out to some lounge with bottle service to go people watch.

Don't kid yourselves! Ha! :)

There's gonna be a 6-7 year gap, give or take, where I'll want weekends off. I'm guessing kids will be 7-8 to 13-14. Before that, they don't know what a weekend is or really care. After that, they aren't even going to recognize me anymore as their parent. Unless they want money for their extravaganzas. And if I'm not home on the weekends, they can't ask me for money. Win win.

My folks worked most weekends. Some things they were able to attend, other things they weren't,

No big deal.

Good exposure to the real world of my future of "Christmas is when you have it, Thanksgiving is when the turkey is done, people may or may not be around for your triumphs and failures"

I would specifically arrange my schedule when I worked EMS to work 48 hour shifts on Sat and Sun just so I'd have more weekday days off. My productivity during the week was about 3x what it would be when I was off during weekends.

No one is wrecking their career over it, but until I get a phone call, which I'm doing everything I can to get called, I'm gonna enjoy being number 5 in base (dumb luck on my part). The second I get the call the and the nod, I'm gone.

I've seen from guys doing their bid in the squadrn the multitude of ways to adjust their schedules at DL, and UA to have the days off they want and even as the most junior guys in base and category they get 80% of what they want. The bigs are night and day comapred to the regionals and I hope I get to experience it in <24 months.

I would also say that as a single, childless 20 something, my friends are off on weekends and that's when things happen that I want to be around for and to deny that and say I don't care would be lying. That and my weekends don't involve eating out, clubs or anywhwere that I have to stand in line to beg people to take my money. What's that saying, work to live?

The destruction of dandelions is all about keeping your lawn properly watered and fertilized. At least that's what I've learned.

That's pretty much the household I grew up in.

Yup! I think the single-income Ozzie and Harriett, 9-to-5, Mon-Fri days are long behind us if they ever, actually, existed for large swathes of the population. Which I doubt they did on a large scale.

You also need to use a dandelion knife to remove anything root and all that does grow up in your grass before it thickens up enough.

That and your neighbor has to not let his yard look like a wheat field like the guy 2 houses down from me does.

My wife says I'm not allowed to go digging up dandelions that aren't within our property line. I said that's a quitter attitude.

You and my wife would get along. I don't know if a dandelion insulted her mother or beat her up as a kid, but she strikes down on the ones in our yard with swift, unwavering, unyielding aggression. Our yard does benefit from the hard work and looks great however!

I have the same issue with a neighbor. I've layer such a think layer of fertilizer that has prevented my lawn from being penetrated with the exception of one lone dandelion here and there.

Last year I went to the field for a month in the spring and my neighbors were surprised to see me back because they thought I had deployed.

Their reasoning was the yard didn't look as meticulously kept as normal.

I live on a street with no less than 3 different professional landscapers in my neighborhood and somehow I'm the crazy yard guy.

It's just a job for them, sounds like it's a vocation for you! Besides, the only people who probably like bringing work home with them are porn stars.

I know who you're talmbout!

I know you do! :)
