Do I need to report this to the FAA?

How old are you since you say "your age"?

I didn't think to look to see if your age was on your profile, I simply made an assumption based on the way you talk. I apologize for making the mistake - - you sound much less mature than your chronological age. I guess you're not gonna grow out of it after all.

That's the most intelligent thing you've said on this board to date.

But I have a question, your profile says you are 15. WHAT STATE LETS 15 YR OLDS DRIVE?

Hey, if it's going to be a sarcastic statment. Most intelligent thing i've said? Oh gimme a break..

Hey, i always thought people with permit's are allowed to drive?

LOL you've been driving less than a year for sure. Believe me, it takes a little longer to be considered an expert.

I did not know any state let 15 yr olds drive. I wasn't allowed to get a permit until I was 16 (NY State.)

I got my permit in Iowa as soon as I turned 14.

I heard out in the boonies of South Dakota, or Montana, or someplace, kids can get a special permit to drive to and from school on their own when they're 13. I'm not sure how accurate that is...just heard it somewhere a long time ago.

In Minnesota you can drive alone at 15......The catch being that it has to be Farm Related. If you live on a working farm, you can get a 'farm' license and use it while taking care of any farm business. Need to get something from town? Throw a sack of feed in the back of the pickup truck and run to the store, you are now on 'farm business'.

So...ah....didn't read this thread all the way through, but my two cents on the issue.

Maybe it's just me being used to driving on roads covered in ice for 5 months out of the year, but I won't hit the gas from a stop light until I look both ways and make sure I'm not about to get broadsided by somebody that CAN'T stop and is sliding through the intersection. Not everywhere in this country is nice weather year round, and it doesn't matter how much you salt intersections; sometimes you can't stop. I've slid through my fair share of stop lights and you know what? After doing it a few times and realizing "I'm going to get myself killed like this if somebody just takes off on their green light," I'd rather cruise through an intersection at 40 mph.

Take it if you want, if you don't I don't really care that much. That's how things are done up where I'm from, and I doubt I'm ever going to be able to break that habit. If you enter an intersection without making sure you're not going to get t-boned, I don't want to say you deserve to get hit; but you deserve to get hit.

Reminds me about that joke from Mexico about the cab driver.

Pax: Hey you just ran a red light!
Driver: Oh no big deal, my brother in law does it all the time
...
Pax: Man you didn't even look! You ran another one!
Driver: Don't worry about it, my brother in law does it all the time!
...
Driver approaches green light, stops and inches thru the intersection, fervently looking both ways
Pax: What are you doing? The light is green!
Driver: Yeah but you never know when my brother in law might be around

LOL! Great joke!:rawk:

Oh and also, in Cali you can drive 15 with an adult, that's what i was talking about.

ALONE? Without an adult in the car?

No, no. That's why it's a permit, not a license. You must have a licensed adult in the front seat with you. So from age 14-16 I drove with one of my parents in the front seat, then when I turned 16 I got my license and could drive on my own.
