Do I have "the right stuff" to become a pilot?

Right stuff?
The whole zero to hero thing where after 90 days of "flight school" you have an interview with a regional airline is over with.

And if you've made it that far through college, you can't be THAT bad at math.;)

This is why I have been leaning towards flying as a hobby more recently. If I don't want to fly one day because of the weather or my mood, I won't. I can take my time with flight lessons and do it the way it works for me. Who knows, someday if I got tired of my day job I may have the hours to fly professionally for an airline.

As for medical issues; probably not, I'm quite the lightweight.

I also have a clean record.

When people ask about flying for a living I always tell them, "It's a GREAT hobby, and it's mostly fun job, but it's a horrible career."

Today I flew across Texas twice. As a new pilot I would have thought of it as an awesome adventure, from DFW to the Davis mountains, and back to DFW. However as a professional pilot, I was mostly pissed because dispatch had screwed up, and I would be late picking up my kids from the babysitter.

-I've been described as shy

-My basic math skills are okay, but my algebra leaves much to be desired.

-I've never taken physics

-My technichal skills? Don't know.
Pretty much describes me and I didn't have any trouble getting my private and I'm doing fairly well on instrument training.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

This is why I can never go to a NJC. I'd walk in and someone who has the misfortune to know me would be like "hey, look, it's Boris", and someone who doesn't would be like "what, behind the skinny pale guy?"

I suppose intardnet cred is better than no cred at all! ;)
