Distance from Peddles

I'd have to join the "west coast surf doggs" if I sat reserve in LAX. I've got a pal named "Scar" that would probably hook me up, but he's down towards Sandy Eggo.

I've never pulled out a protractor to measure any angles, but I sit with the seat all the way forward. I'm only 5'7" and all the way forward is pretty comfortable for me.

On my intro flight i sat with the seat all the way forward, on a pillow with one behind me and i still couldn't reach the rudder pedals...I'm only 5' though and it was not comfortable.

LAX would be the bomb-diggity, yo!

I don't know why I transferred to ATL because my attitude went rock bottom low. Even Kristie is like "Get OUT".

Ugh, my dh's company attitude has been atrocious ever since March 25 of last year (the day FMII was announced). At least he's (mostly) quit saying "well, if I have a job in a few months....." Plus he's got recurrent coming up next week, and that's never a happy thing. I can not wait for him to get recurrent done and over with. Blech.

On the other hand, at least he's not based in ATL!

(Then again, every CVG M88 trip goes through ATL anyway, so he might as well be!)

Oh, and actually relating to the subject of this thread, I'm 5'2", and I have a bear of a time reaching the pedals. I'm embarassed to admit this, but when I fly I actually have to use one of those booster seats that both raises me up (5")and pushes me forward (3") in the seat. It makes all the difference in the world. I do still have to have the seat all the way forward, but at least I can have full use of the brakes!

Recurrent's a piece of cake this year. Just got out and pretty simple.

Tell Bill that I had a "C" period for a sim and was able to hop on a 1715 flight home.

He's got all A-periods this year. He's so not a morning person, in fact, he's still in bed as I type...... So I'm sure he'll be having lots of coffee with his V1 cuts!

At least he'll get home early on the last day!

True!

No suprises this year. The APD said we were going to have a TAIL TEMP HI annunciation, but he tricked us and gave us a cargo fire on the LOE. Piece of cake, split the cockpit self-configure yourself for the visual approach into MEM while the nonflying pilot is running the procedure and land the jet.

They're real big this year about the evacuation philosohpy too so when Bill hits the ground, tell him to open the outflow valve, go flaps 28 and leave 'em out as the truck follows you to the gate.

My opinion doesn't really matter much, but if you can be senior on the 737-300 at SLC, why not? It seems like you'd have a much better QOL. If I've learned anything, it's that seniority rules. I can't wait to be in the top 1/4 of the list so I can get some weekends off and 15-16 days off a month. Oh wait, nevermind, our lines suck now as of June 1st so we'll all be flying 7:30 flight/13:30 duty days with 11 days off a month.

You should see our trips for May!

As for the pedals, I sit fairly forward towards the panel so I can easily reach everything, and put the pedals in a position where if I needed full rudder (engine failure after V1?) then I'd still have my leg bent slightly. No knee-locking. When in cruise I slide the seat back and sometimes put the pedals farther away to stretch out. Seems after about the 10th hour of duty my ankles start to get sore.

I know how THAT goes.

At Skyway, we had good lines. Lots of flying and like 16 to 17 days a month off.

Then the new director of operations decided that that was way too many days off so almost overnight we went down to 11 days off for line holders and 9 days off for reserve pilots (and I quote, "No one deserves that many days off").

Basically they started filling in what were days off with reserve days.

I'll just have to wait and see how things turn out next week when the bids come out. Our pairings have many 6, 7, and even 8 leg days in them now! With some +7 hour flight/+12 or 13 hour duty days. I'm not sure whether the high time will mean more days off, or whether we'll just get royally screwed. If flying a 4-day with 10 hour duty days and 6 and 7 legs each day would mean 16 to 18 days off, then I'm all for it. But if we are flying trips like that with 12 days off, then no no no. Forget it.

I'm all about productivity while at work, to give me free time away from work. I like my days off better than long overnights in party cities.

That's my big beef over at Dellah Southernjets, Inc.

They keep screaming about how unproductive we are... I spend more 12 hour duty days flying 5 or so hours that I usually have time between flights to log onto the forums and moderate.

No reason a four day trip shouldn't be 26+ hours like we did on Delta Express. But these three day 15-hour trips that we do out of ATL are absolutely killing me.

So, if you have a 12 hour duty day and only fly 5, you're only getting paid for 5 hours, right? WHY would you be productive for the 7 hours you aren't getting paid? If anyone is costing them productivity, it's crew scheduling.

I only get paid for flight time.

Doug is your cruise position one with the seat leaned all the way back, tie loosened up and thinking of your recliner and a cold adult beverage?
