Dispatcher III - Weekend 1st Shift in GAC Savannah

Unique Skills:

SAP experience preferred, able to work weekend shift or 2nd shift. Possibly normal 1st shift as well. 1st shift for training period

Education and Experience Requirements:


High school graduate/GED. Valid drivers license required. Capable of working in an automated system.Four (4) years of related expediting and/or material handling experience. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in materials coordination. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Position Purpose:
Under limited supervision, responsible for a variety of activities within the dispatching function in support of manufacturing. Responsible for multiple dispatching and material functions; track status of materials that feeds manufacturing; identify shortages, request replacements and track status of kits. Maintain accuracy of reports and data entry.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: 1. Release, interpret and track status of route cards, material request forms, or MES to ensure accurate movement of materials. 2. Ensure proper request is placed for replacement material such as scrap, DMT or miscellaneous issues. 3. Maintain hardware areas to include identifying shortages. 4. Responsible for tracking kits and/or parts requested by departments to the schedule. Maintain kits per log; ensure request is placed within time limits. 5. Process all unplanned demand orders within appropriate inventory system for picking of material and expedite to using department. 6. Provide customer support to mechanics within assigned department and cover other departments as needed. 7. Where required, monitor/work PCOs (Production Change Orders) or Engineering Notification to expedite changes to the manufacturing build schedule. 8. Initiate corrective action with planning BOM discrepancies through Manufacturing Engineering, Service Engineering, and/or Product Support. 9. Perform all Point of Use processes to include requesting, Q stamp inspection and delivery of material to using department per manufacturing schedule. 10. Identify, report or solve shortage report issues with other functional areas in support of manufacturing and/or Product Support schedule. 11. Work with others as a team on dispatching functions. Mentor other dispatchers in the learning of next level requirements.

Additional Functions: 1. Participate in Lean Manufacturing processes and capable of completing Lean training. 2. Responsible for assigned equipment. 3. Complies with all company safety regulations. 4. Performs other duties as required.

Other Requirements: 1. On feet most of shift and must be able to lift up to 50lbs. 2. Ability to operate company vehicles, forklift and/or gas/electric carts as required. 3. May be required to work overtime, various shifts, and weekend coverage as required by production schedule. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 5. Note: Employees hired in the Savannah Manufacturing Materials organization will be required to obtain Q stamp and complete math and reading assessment. 6. Note: Employees hired in Product Support and Final Phase Materials will be required to obtain CDI stamp.
