CommuteAir North Olmsted, Ohio:<BR /><p><span><strong><span>What the position is:&nbsp;</span></strong></span></p> <p><span>This job is a member of the System Operations Team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the Dispatchers during a given shift. They will help provide insight related to fueling, weather, ATC, etc. to Dispatchers. The Operations Controller will help the Duty Managers with crew alignment, tail swaps, maintenance routing. Each Operations Controller will be training to help the Duty Managers and to run the desk if the need arises.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span><strong><span>Essential Functions:</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Primary duty is to provide oversight to the Dispatchers working and make sure communication is streamlined between the Dispatchers and Duty Managers</span></li> <li><span>Assist dispatchers in imputing flow control (GDP) times when dispatchers are unable due to workload</span></li> <li><span>Communicate real-time information to dispatch related to crew issues, flow programs (GDP, Ground Stops, etc), terminal information, tail swaps, MX issues</span></li> <li><span>Monitor the NOD Tool, AeroBaun, PERTI plan, OIS page, Fusion, etc., and pass along information to the Dispatchers and Duty Managers</span></li> <li><span>Attend daily Hub calls with DEN, IAH, EWR, and IAD as well as the company Daily Reliability Meeting</span></li> <li><span>Research and input Dispatch Delay reports on the Operational Dashboard</span></li> <li><span>Assist Duty Managers with the day-to-day operation of the airline including crew routing, inputting tail swaps, maintenance routing, dispatch desk balance, etc.</span></li> <li><span>Assist with building repo flights, ferry flights, and OCF flights</span></li> <li><span>Operational Controller will handle OCF&rsquo;s, supplemental, and any other irregular operations (other than reposition flights) when on duty</span></li> <li><span>Be trained to act as a Duty Manager if the need arises</span></li> <li><span>Maintain currency as a dispatcher</span></li> <li><span>Take over Operational Control of a flight if, in the opinion of the SOC Duty Manager, the dispatcher cannot handle the situation</span></li> <li><span>Performs other duties as requested</span></li> </ul> <p><span><strong><span>&nbsp;</span></strong></span></p> <p><span><strong><span>General requirements &amp; qualifications:</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Qualified and current Dispatcher</span></li> <li><span>Strong aptitude for complex problem and puzzle-solving</span></li> <li><span>Thorough understanding of the airline business, especially in relation to dispatching</span></li> <li><span>Ability to work with cross-functional groups and quickly develop relationships</span></li> <li><span>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as external contacts</span></li> </ul> <!--dfFormathtml-->
